On April 24-25, 2026, the camp “Saugus 360” was held at the Šiauliai City Open Youth Center, bringing together more than 70 young people. The goal of the event was to provide participants with theoretical knowledge about security and interpersonal relationships and to create a space that encourages active civic action and responsibility.
Diversity of activities and practical application
The training program was designed to provide participants with as many diverse activities as possible in a short period of time. Theoretical material was seamlessly integrated into practical activities: from discussions about personal and social security to active collaborative games and relay races. Participants were encouraged to try different communication formats: group reflections, improvised role-playing episodes, and in creative workshops, young people created short video stories using selected texts.
Young Samaritans – event leaders
Special attention was paid to strengthening youth leadership competencies during the event. We are glad that during this training, the Young Samaritans took on the roles of group leaders and supervisors. As coordinators of their teams, they not only organized activities, but also set an example for their peers: they helped them complete tasks, encouraged bold involvement, and moderated discussions. Their responsibility and ability to bring others together became one of the most important factors in the success of the event.
The training “Saugus 360” has become a meaningful place for young people not only to test their skills, but also to learn from each other. We hope that the initiative demonstrated by the Young Samaritans and the communication and creative problem-solving skills acquired during the event will be a significant contribution to their further personal growth and successful activities in the community.
